3Z: Create it, wear it, share it
Create jewellery that reflects your spirituality. Image is important to our youth, often teenagers’ values are reflected in what they wear. This workshop focuses on showing signs of our spirituality in a modern context. Catholic schools foster faith, hope, resilience, service and making a difference so it makes sense that, in a world filled with wearable and decorative art works featuring words and slogans, participants and their students will be able to wear reminders of their values and beliefs.
Participants will be using mess-free air-dry clay and simple tools, the workshop will be able to be easily replicated at class retreats or in RE lessons. The images and words used will cause comment and questions, leading to valuable discussions on faith and core values. Participants will create and decorate a Cross with faith-filled words, either as a pendant, brooch or charm, to wear or to hang in your classroom. If time permits, create lovely paper beads with words expressing their spirituality. These can be made into necklace, bracelet or even a rosary.
